오월 삼십일일 오늘 일번 열두달 중 가장 화사한 달의 마지막날 내게도 화려한 날이 되었다. 향집을 졸업하는 날이다. 2008년 10월에 입향을 했고, 2011년 5월에 퇴향을 한다. 2년 7개월 24일동안 나는 향집에서 단주의 행진을 했다. (중략) 나의 지난 날의 쓰라린 술잔의 아픈 패배를, 더이상 맛보지 않기위해 질주한 것이다. 허나 이제는, 단주만의 질주가 아닌 인생을 위해서 최**을 위해서 떠나간다. 나는 간다 "두둥실 두리둥실 배 떠나 간다" 어느 노래 가사처럼, 나는 향집을 떠나 사회로 간다. 향집에서 단주를 향한 불타는일념하의 결실인 단주인 최**이 된 나와 남은 인생을 태양을 불태우듯이 달리라는 내 뜨거운 눈동자가 지금, 이 글을 쓰는 순간 이글 이글 타고 있다. 그러면서도, 늘, 어느 한 순간에도 잊지 못하는 것은 향집의 고마움. 단주의 산실인 향집의 감사함과 혈육이 아니면서도 "안녕하세요 우리 가족"하며 함께했던 향집에 큰 절을 올린다. 두눈을 부릅뜨게 한 태양을 두눈으로 삼키게 한 (중독자일때는 달빛에만 휘청거릴거지만) 향집에 맨발로 큰 절을 올린다. 감사합니다. 칭찬드립니다(향집에서 가장 좋은 인삿말).
